Flat Brook Three Muskateer
aka "Trio"
(Nubian x Oberhasli)
Tonka-Tails Thunder On Downs *B x CH Flat Brook Dark Chocolate
"Trio" is out of Flat Brook Dark Chocolate.... Flat Brook Farm's 6 year old permanent champion.
Trio is very sweet and shows very nice dairy characteristics with a long uphill profile, straight feet and legs as well as being nicely blended.Trio gave us a very nice set of twin doelings this year that we are excited about...see the Kids Nursery Page. She has a nicely shaped and attached udder and is easy to milk with good capacity.
Our "experimental plan" will focus on breeding a small/medium sized dairy goat that will milk well to provide their families with outstanding high quality milk and ease of care due to their smaller stature. Experimentals are also known for their "hybrid vigor".Hybrid vigor or outbreeding enhancement, describes the increased strength of various characteristics in hybrids. The superior characteristics of two breeds can be combined to create one animal with traits of both breeds. Selective breeding research is currently in progress all over the world, with goats being bred for superior conformations, udder formation, stature, milk production and butterfat content. Parasite resistance is also a point of research within theses selective breeding programs. Combining the best of both breeds can result in offspring which is superior to both parents. We want our goats to show and milk well. Grade goats are versatile and interesting. With Recorded Grades you can get the best of two breeds. Sometimes you get a better quality animal than a purebred. Also, like the Nigerian Dwarf you never know what you are going to get colorwise .Outcrossing them with the grades provides the additional element of surprise with "ear factor" as well !
